Emerson Park, Havering

June 29th, 2009

Thanks to all you year 7,8 and 10 students. It was great to talk to you and I hope you took something away from the stories of forgiveness you heard today. Like Glenn said, you will get out of life what you put in to it.
Thanks to Michael and Sam for helping pack up.

Coming to your school was the best thing we have done all week. Thank you for your attention you gave us – even though it was the last class on a Friday! Hopefully it gave you something you can think about, forgiveness is a tool you can always use, if you have the courage.

To all at Kingsthorpe, you guys were one of the best audiences we have ever had. Thank you for making us feel welcome in your school. I hope the stories of forgiveness you heard today from John and Glenn inspire you to make the best of whatever life throws at you. Remember Glenn’s words “you get out of life what you put in!”

It was great to meet you all at Bexhill High School – Gunter’s lane site today. Thank you for being such an attentive audience. Although Kim and Nathan’s stories are painful, they do, at the same time, inspire positive choices in life.  It is of utmost importance to focus on your future, rather than any negative experiences that may have happened in the past. Each one of you is irreplaceable, and special.

Choose forgiveness over revenge – it’s not easy but will change your life and those around you. All the best, be safe.

It was really good to meet you all at Christopher Whitehead. Like John and Glenn were saying you are young and have a lot of potential.

If you choose a positive pathway in life, the effect that choice will have on yourself and those around you could change the world – remember the ripple effect!
Best of luck on your exams to year 11s.

It was really good to meet all you John Loughborough School students today.

Even though many of you have difficult situations and serious challenges to deal with, know that through positive choices in life you will change not only your own life, but the lives of your family, friends and community for the better.

Positive choices have a lifetime of positive effects on you and those around you. Good things will be coming out of Romford as you students carry on as you did today. Take care and all the best wishes for your future.

Stephen Lewis is the first teenage life lost through violence in London this year. It is one too many. As Kennedy said: “The victims of violence are black and white, rich and poor, young and old, famous or unknown. They are most important of all, human beings whom other humans loved and needed.” No one can replace Stephen.

Each one of you can never be replaced. You have a unique role to play in this world. Like Glenn told you by his own example, choosing a positive attitude can affect all those you meet, and make a difference in their lives and the lives they encounter.
